Peace Corps Volunteer Leader
Ryan Reid
Ryan Reid was an Agro-forestry Volunteer in Paraiso, Barahona, from May 2002-May 2004, where he was involved the development of the Cachote Ecotourism Project, latrine construction, and construction of efficient wood-burning stoves, AIDS presentations, web-page design, medical mission, grant writing, and a myriad of other small projects. Before coming to the Peace Corps, he was a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In May 2001, he graduated with a degree in International Relations -- with a focus on Latin America -- and Spanish. Ryan's family is from North Carolina; however, he has spent the majority of his childhood either overseas or in the Washington D.C. area.
